- Description
- Cotton Warp, wool weft. During the reign of Queen Victoria the city of Paisley in Scotland, carried on an extensive trade in machine-made shawls imitating the hand-made Kashmir shawls imported from India. Shawls of this type sometimes termed 'brochée' ' were also made in England and in France.
